Overview

Provides a focused, leadership presence in his/her Operations Division of Kettering Physician Network; and enhances the coordination and promotion of services provided.  The Director is accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law.  Utilizing organizational resources, the Director acts as a patient, staff, physician and network advocate for the delivery of safe care including delegation and participation in performance and practice improvement activities. 

Responsibilities & Requirements

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Exemplifies organizational mission, vision and culture through Standards of Behavior: Trustworthy, Innovative, Caring, Competent, and Collaborative
  • Supervises multi-disciplinary teams and maintains relationships with physicians and their staff
  • Works with Physician, Hospital administration and personnel to develop and coordinate communication materials and programs
  • Participates in the annual non-nursing education days
  • Adheres to Network philosophy, policies, procedures, & supports its goals
  • Communicates effectively to customers of varying cultures, ages, & backgrounds
  • Demonstrates knowledge & adherence to, departmental policies & procedures
  • Uses medical center resources efficiently
  • Completes work assignments in timely manner
  • Assist in the development of Service Line strategies
  • Assist with physician contracting and (re)negotiations. Acts as liaison.
  • Accounts receivable and financial data for service line
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration/healthcare management or related field and/or equivalent practice management experience in healthcare setting required. Masters Preferred.

 

Knowledge and Abilities:

    • 5+ years of medical office management experience with a minimum of 3 years oncology services leadership/practice management experience
    • Thorough understanding of oncology services to manage practice revenue cycle, patient and physician relations, personnel management, operations, facilities and managed care.
    • Maintains competencies & skills of specialty area for practices.
    • Demonstrated knowledge in operational oversight of specialty physician practices. 
    • Effective in developing and managing action plans in support of practice and organizational objectives
    • Knowledge of legal issues related to physician practices, employment law and fraud/abuse rules.
    • Knowledge of project planning and ability to coordinate various projects and activities concurrently. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively, written and oral.
    • Ability to evaluate statistical data for use in planning and monitoring operations and budgets.
    • Ability to work under stressful situations.
    • Proven skills in developing high performance teams.
    • Has completed annual Corporate Integrity training

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree preferred
