    Job Summary

    The Program Assistant is responsible for greeting, registering and checking in/checking out all patients; verifies end of day activity in EPIC. PA establishes bariatric patient charts, schedules new patient appointments and follow-ups; keeps account of insurance authorization requirements. The Program Assistant maintains a system of communication with the surgeons’ offices to share information.

     

    The Program Assistant answers phones and directs incoming calls, schedules appointments and updates computer data including verifying identify and insurance information. The Program Assistant orders office supplies and uses resources efficiently; readies outgoing items for the courier and receives all delivers, stocks the orders.

     

    The Program Assistant assists with the HMR program by maintaining patient accounts and fee schedules in an orderly and accurate manner; receives monies and documents payments. The Program Assistant fills patient product orders and performs a daily inventory checklist of sales and maintains daily ledgers. The Program Assistant balances out the credit card and cash registers and prepares the nightly deposit accurately.

     

    Educational Requirements

    High school diploma or GED; prefer Associates degree or higher in office management, accounting, or business administration.
