    Responsibilities & Requirements

    Job Summary


    Performs Sterile Processing procedures and duties as assigned under the supervision and guidance of the department's team leaders and manager.  This individual is considered an expert and must have the ability to process surgical sets quickly and with the highest of quality.


    Educational Requirements 

    • High School Diploma
    • Sterile Processing certification required through either the International Associations of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management (IAHCSMM) or the Certification Body for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).


    • Two to Three years of sterile processing experience preferred
    • Must be able to work independently in all three areas of Sterile Processing: decontamination, case carts and preparation/packaging.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous related experience and certification strongly preferred.
