    Responsibilities & Requirements

    Responsibilities

    The Physical Therapist Assistant is a licensed professional who provides treatment for patients in accordance with state and national practice acts. In cooperation with the referral source & physical therapist, provides therapy treatment designed to improve function, decrease pain, and/or prevent disability. Communicates changes in the patient's condition and/or needs to the occupational therapist to ensure updates to the treatment plan and goals. Major tasks and duties include, but are not limited to: direct patient care, day to day patient scheduling, supervision of physical therapy assistant students, consultation with physicians and other team members, documentation in the electronic medical record, quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI), clinical education, guest relations, and billing for patient services rendered and other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    • Graduation from an accredited physical therapist assistant program required. Associate's degree required.

    • Must be licensed by the State of Ohio.

    • CPR certified.

    Skills / Other

    • Ability to perform therapy treatments in accordance with the established plan of care.
    • Ability to delegate appropriate treatment activities to supportive personnel.
    • Knowledge of and ability to use therapy equipment.
    • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, documentation in electronic medical record.
    • Meets the physical demand requirements, has good interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask.
