    Responsibilities & Requirements

    Responsibilities 

    • The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process in providing nursing care to patients in all settings in collaboration with other health care providers.
    • The RN is accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law.
    • Utilizing organizational resources the RN acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities.
    • The delivery of nursing care within the Kettering Health Network reflects the missions, vision, values and philosophies, of the organization and nursing departments

    Qualifications

    Applicants Must Have: 

    • Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ACEN or CCNE) if they are a new graduate nurse.
    • Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred (must be completed within 5 years of hire).
    • A nurse who is returning to the acute care setting after five or more years may be required to provide evidence of successful completion of a refresher course.
    • BLS certification
    • ACLS, NRP, PALS as determined by unit scope of practice

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred applicants will  have worked in perioperative area with critical care experience, prefer 5 years experience but will consider 2 years.

    Emergency department or ICU experience also welcome to apply.

     

    Must have critical thinking skills, ACLS current or easily renewable. Excellent IV skills very important to this role.

     

    Professional certification of CAPA, CPAN, CCRN, or CEN will be a plus.

     

    Come join an incredible team of hard working professionals in a hybrid unit where all clinical staff work in all phases of periop including PreOp, Phase 1 PACU (immediate post-op), and Phase 2 discharge.  We care for a variety of surgical patients including bariatric, orthopedic, urology, general, and others.     This position will consist of three 12 hour shifts per week 9am-9:30 pm, days to be determined based on unit need.   There is a paid self-scheduled call hour commitment including some weekends and holidays.
