    The Culinary and Nutrition Care department is looking for a dependable, positive individual to join our team of retail and patient meal servers, baristas, cashiers, grill cooks, call center attendants, and dishwashers.

    Responsibilities & Requirements

    The Supervisor role may include, but is not limited to:

    • Assisting in patient healing by overseeing the meal service to patients, family members, employees and physicians
    • Creating memorable, personalized experiences by connecting with customers and assuring their satisfaction with the food and beverage services provided
    • Assuring safe handling of money, operation of cash register, accuracy of cashier reports and deposits
    • Demonstrating competency in the safe use, care, cleaning, and handling of equipment and assuring workstations and serving areas are kept clean and organized
    • Overseeing the safe handling, labeling and storage of leftover foods
    • Adhering to HACCP, Food Code and state/local policies and procedures in the handling, preparation, service and storage of foods
    • Accurately checking and recording temperatures of foods upon cooking and prior to meal service
    • Complying with established sanitation practices and overseeing the proper sanitizing processes for equipment, dishware and dishcloths
    • Following and enforcing established workplace safety practices including personal, environmental and chemical
    • Scheduling staff members to meet the operational needs of the organization and the patient meal experience
    • Coaching and disciplining staff members to assure all quality and safety standards are met

    Job Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Previous foodservice and supervisory experience
    • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
    • Ability to push and pull wheeled carts
    • Ability to read and write English
    • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Ability to follow oral and written directions
    • Ability to tolerate frequent temperature changes working with and around equipment that generates heat, steam, and cold

    Preferred Qualifications

    Kettering Health Network prefers candidates to have: 

    • Dietary Manager Certification or Associate degree in Dietetic Technology
    • Three to five years of foodservice supervisory experience
    • Basic computer skills and experience
