    Under the supervision of the Patient Financial Services Director, the Patient Accounts Supervisor identifies problems and opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies, supports staff performance to achieve production and quality standards, monitors and communicates billing information and updates/changes in a timely manner, participates in the of selection staff, ESL assignment, and performance evaluation of staff, is responsible for oversight of billing services which include, but are not limited to:  Productivity standards of timeliness in working assigned work queues,  timeliness in working assigned follow-up and denial work in the Patient Financial Services department in compliance with federal and state regulations.

    Responsibilities & Requirements

     Direct reporting responsibility over assigned Team Leads, Specialists, and Account Representatives. This position has other essential job duties including but not limited to:



    • Daily rounding with assigned staff
    • Conduct monthly one on one’s with assigned staff
    • Coach on performance issues
    • Ensure Team Lead Competencies are conducted per frequency schedule
    • Time and Attendance approval, tracking, and reporting
    • Administer improvement action plans and consult with Manager on resulting disciplinary actions; administer disciplinary action up to written warning
    • Conduct Practice/ Department denial review sessions where applicable
    • Create monthly Practice/ Department denial metric scorecards where applicable
    • Monitor work queue productivity
    • Oversee progress of assigned projects
    • Manage productivity and quality of staff work
    • Pull information/data for Compliance requested audits
    • Other duties as assigned


    Job Requirements:        

    • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in business related field preferred
    • Minimum three years’ previous experience in medical billing
    • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft tools
    • Effective, professional communication skills, verbal and written
    • Must demonstrate strong leadership skills, advanced computer and analytical skills, ability to coach/mentor, strong organizational skills
    • Role model KHN Standards of Behavior
