    Responsibilities & Requirements


    The Clinic Epic Manager position duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Manage the delivery of technical support for EPIC Clinical applications. Attend regularly scheduled meetings with Clinical Support/Informatics leadership to receive feedback, provide updates on support activities, and prioritize the resolution of open issues.
    • Manage the assessment, prioritization, and fulfillment of report requests for EPIC Clinical applications.
    • Develop the overall framework to review and approve EPIC Clinical application security requests with the Clinical Support/Informatics and Security teams. Maintain audit procedures that verify completed requests meet established security standards. 
    • Oversee the transfer of technical knowledge from Production Support team members to Clinical Support/Informatics teams.
    • Manage the technical implementation of approved changes to EPIC Clinical applications. Develop project plans, assign implementations to Production Support teams, and coordinate efforts with the appropriate Clinical Support/Informatics teams.
    • Manage the planning, deployment, testing, and validation of major patches, upgrades, and enhancements for EPIC Clinical applications in collaboration with Clinical Support/Informatics teams.
    • Evaluate phase-out plans for legacy clinical applications with Clinical Support/Informatics leadership and IS teams. Verify that legacy system functionality still required by the business is provided by EPIC applications.  Ensure that legacy data is imported into EPIC or other applications for retrieval based on established data retention standards.
    • Develop change management standards for EPIC production environments in collaboration with business stakeholders and other IS teams. Maintain processes and procedures to ensure that all production changes comply with established standards.
    • Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in departmental meetings and advisory groups as appropriate.
    • Manage people functions for assigned staff. Develop work schedules, complete performance reviews, recruit and hire team members, coordinate team celebrations, and provide corrective coaching as needed.


    • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Computer Science or in a related field is preferred
    • 7+ years of relevant application systems/management experience
    • 3 years of experience supporting and managing the delivery of IT services
    • Comprehensive understanding of healthcare systems and processes
    • Demonstrated experience in budgeting, planning, contracting, and negotiation
    • Vendor management experience
    • ITIL certification and/or at least three (3) years of experience
    • Agile or Lean certification and/or at least three (3) years of experience
    • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification, preferred
    • Epic certification and/or experience is preferred
