Responsibilities & Requirements

The Epic Clinical Analyst II position duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide support in the maintenance and improvement of Epic clinical, PACS, and voice recognition applications. Support PACS display hanging protocols and worklist queues.
  • Resolve application issues and fulfill request escalations. Identify the root cause of application issues and develop creative solutions to correct application problems.
  • Build, configure, and test application fixes in the application environments.  Review fixes with the appropriate customer to validate identified issues are addressed.  Coordinate the implementation of approved application fixes into the production environment according to established change control processes.  Document implemented fixes.
  • Develop technical requirements and specifications based on business requirements to improve and optimize applications.  Build and configure applications based on these requirements.
  • Develop test scripts, and validate that changes deliver needed business functionality, do not adversely affect downstream processes, and work correctly with other application teams.
  • Provide documentation and technical information to help develop tip sheets, handouts, end-user documentation, and training programs for Epic clinical, PACS, and voice recognition applications.
  • Assist the training team in the planning of learning activities for end-users based on their roles and implemented functionality.  Participate in go-live education and training activities.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support off-hours application support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience
  • 3 years of relevant configuration/programming experience
  • Knowledge of hospital/clinical business processes in assigned area/department
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • Epic certification preferred within eighteen months of employment
  • Sectra PACS experience and/or certifications in PACS preferred (e.g. CPSA, CPIA, CPSM, MCITP)
  • Experience with PowerScribe voice recognition applications preferred
