Campus Overview

Kettering College

  • The main campus in Kettering, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton, Ohio, is shared by Kettering College, and the Charles F. Kettering Memorial Hospital. 
  • In 2015, Kettering College expanded to include a second facility in Greene County for the Occupational Therapy Doctoral program.
  • The main Kettering College campusbuildings include classrooms, laboratories, libraries, the Residence Hall, lounges, gymnasium, auditoriums, cafeteria, laundry, computer facilities, and other offices and services related to academic and professional life. 
  • The campus is accessible from Interstate 75and the Dayton International Airport. Shopping centers and other services are close to the main Kettering College campus.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Communication Specialist position duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Write and/or edit executive communications including, but not limited to, memos, talking points, award nominations, and video scripts
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for communications support for multiple locations and/or service lines
  • Work with subject matter experts to create and implement strategic communications campaigns for internal clients
  • Provide high level of customer service and manage client relationships throughout the organization
  • Collaborate with internal team members and external vendors, including designers, photographers, videographers, and freelancers.
  • Utilize storytelling techniques to engage audiences.
  • Measure effectiveness of campaigns as well as content strategy, types, topics, and channels.
  • Effectively manage priorities and complete work in a timely manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, publications, English, or relevant field required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in relevant field, including communications, marketing, publications, writing, and editing.
  • Prior experience working with leaders and/or executives preferred
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives; build and maintain relationships with key leaders
  • Organized

  • Critical analysis
