Campus Overview

Kettering Health Main Campus

  • Kettering Health Main Campus, formerly Kettering Medical Center, is the flagship hospital of Kettering Health and has been serving Kettering, Ohio and the Greater Dayton area since 1964.
  • The facility includes the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Heart Hospital, maternity service with a level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and level II Emergency Care.
  • In 2020, KH Main Campus received an “A” from the Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Job Requirements:
Health Technologists and Technicians, All Other 

  • Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Cytotechnologist, or other certification equal in academic and clinical requirements.
  • B.S degree from an accredited university/college with twelve semester hours of science, including Biology.
  • Successful completion of a twelve month AMA accredited Cytotechnology program.
  • Successful completion of certification examination. 

Required Skills:

  • Ability to accurately perform cytological procedures.
  • Knowledge of cytological quality control methods.
  • Knowledge of accreditation requirements for cytology.
  • Ability to get along with others. 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with processing and screening of GYN & NonGYN ThinPrep Cytology; FNA collection quick preparation and screening; retention of patient samples and documents; quality assurance and control procedures; data entry into information systems; and maintenance of educational requirements. Travel between network facilities may be necessary for the support of patient FNA collections or educational activities.
