Technologist will be an individual capable of assisting the physician during cardiac or peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures, pacemakers and ICDs. He or she must possess the ability to perform radiographic work on several different types of radiographic equipment so that all work is completed in a competent, timely and efficient manner. He or she will assist with patient care and safety while the patient is in the cath lab.
This is a highly stressful, very busy patient care area. Exposure to X-ray and blood borne pathogens may occur during cardiac catheterization procedures. Long periods of standing are required with the use of lead aprons.
Will be responsible for rotating call for emergency procedures with a 30 minute response time.
Minimum Education
Graduation from an accredited Radiology program from and accredited college or university.
Required Licenses
Other
Current certification with the ARRT in diagnostic Radiology
Possesses a current license as a State of Ohio Radiographer.
ACLS certification required within six months of hire.
Minimum Work Experience
Prefer 1 year recent hospital angiographic interventional experience.
Required Skills
The Angiographic Technician has an excellent knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
The Angiographic Technician will need to have excellent communication skills.
The Angiographic Technician will need to work well with others and facilitate teamwork.
The Angiographic Technician has the ability to exercise independent judgment and initiate independent actions.
The Angiographic Technician has the ability to work well in high stress situations.
The Angiographic Technician has the ability to works closely, anticipate the patient and physicians needs and trouble shoot equipment quickly and efficiently.
The Angiographic Technician has the ability to tolerate long workdays and call hours.
The Angiographic Technician will be able to interpret EKG rhythm.
