Responsibilities & Requirements

The Officer II is responsible for:

  • Under the direction of the Director/Manager of Security and/or shift supervisor the officer maintains a safe and secure environment for all persons visiting the Medical Center.
  • The officer fulfills the duties of a security officer and/or security dispatcher as well as parking garage cashier and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of High School or equivalent
  • Ohio Private Police Training (OPOTA) certification or equivalent.
  • ASP Police Baton Certification
  • CPR Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Firearms Certification

 

Experience:

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to deal with and to communicate tactfully and effectively all people under stressful circumstances.
  • Ability to meet the standards established by the Medical Center.
  • Ability to learn and operate computers, computer based dispatching and report writing, and operate proprietary central fire system and/or other computer based systems when needed.
  • Has knowledge of principles and methods of maintaining building and ground security.
  • Ability to investigate incidents fully dealing with victims, witnesses and suspects in a tactful manner, and filing a thorough report of the incident.
  • Ability to handle money transactions.
  • Ability to accept change and constructive criticism.
