Preferred Qualifications

The vascular technologist will be capable of applying techniques and patient positioning to produce high quality ultrasound images. Individuals in this position must be able to exercise initiative, critical thinking and independent judgment. The technologist must be willing to participate in continuing education programs to further upgrade his/her skills. Qualified candidate must have good communication skills, be reliable and participate in after-hours coverage.Candidates must show competency in the vascular diagnostic imaging modalities including but not limited to cerebrovascular, peripheral venous and arterial testing, visceral, renal artery, hemodialysis access and peripheral venous mapping
Candidates must have good communication skills including extensive knowledge of vascular anatomy and terminology, including vascular hemodynamicsCandidates must be competent in structured reporting

 

  • Registered Vascular Technologist certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers with a minimum six months full-time clinical experience in Vascular Lab settings (preferred)
  • Registered by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International with minimum of six months full-time clinical experience in Vascular Lab settings may be considered
  • Registry Eligible candidates for RVT credential with twelve months full-time clinical experience in Vascular Lab setting may be considered with Registry status obtained within 6 months from hire date

Under general supervision performs high quality  vascular ultrasounds following  ICAVL accredited guidelines. Individuals in this position will work closely with vascular surgeons and other physicians. Must be able to exercise critical thinking, initiative and independent judgment. Technologist must be knowledgeable of techniques and patient positioning to produce high quality ultrasound images. Individuals must be able to work with all segments of patient populations, including adults, and geriatric patients. There is the potential for infections from contact with infected patients.  Work hours can, at times, be irregular with the need to accept overtime.  On call is required. The work can be physically demanding. Individual must possess excellent communication skills as part of our team as well as reliability in attendance.  Indiviual must have extensive knowledge of vascular anatomy and terminology, including vascular hemodynamics and structured reporting.

 

On-Call Required

Must live within 30-45 minutes of Kettering Health Dayton (Grandview) and Kettering Health Washington Township (Southview)

Must be RVT credentialed with 1 year full-time vascular lab experience
