Department Overview

The Payroll Analyst is responsible for ensuring our company’s payroll process is accurate and timely. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of payroll, including ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and pay practice policies, maintaining payroll records and processing paychecks. This Analyst should have excellent analytical skills, an eye for detail, strong communication skills and a thorough knowledge of payroll processes.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Ensure all aspects of the payroll cycle, including tax, wage attachments etc are processed, reconciled, audited and transmitted accurately and timely
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including tax, wage and hour laws and other payroll-related regulations
  • Analysis to ensure compliance of pay practices
  • Maintain accurate payroll data and records, including employee information, timesheets and other relevant payroll documents
  • Resolve employee payroll issues, discrepancies and concerns in a timely manner
  • Perform testing of T&A and Payroll systems
  • Provide training to employees as necessary on payroll-related processes
  • Research tax/benefit laws for out of state remote workers
  • Stay current with all payroll-related laws and regulations and make recommendations for changes to policies and procedures as necessary
  • Support quarterly and year end processing/reporting
  • Projects as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Requirements

 

  • Education, Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years Payroll experience in a medium or large sized organization with in-house payroll processing
  • Knowledge of payroll systems (UKG UltiPro & Dimensions preferred)
  • Advanced skills in Excel, including v-lookups and creating pivot tables
  • Strong systems/process experience with demonstrated analytical thinking, attention to detail, organization and problem solving
  • Knowledge of federal and multi-state payroll laws and general legal requirements for tax registration, reporting and special pay requirements
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently and within a team environment
