Responsibilities & Requirements

KH Director, Hospital Billing 

JOB SUMMARY
This network wide position is responsible for the hospital billing operations, financial, andhuman resource management. This network role has direct responsibility for leading and setting strategicgoals for hospital accounts receivable management for in support of the network wide strategic plans anddirection.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Meet accounts receivable and other departmental goals. Maximize KHN cash flow through top quartileperformance of accounts receivable- AR Days, Aged AR, Preventable adjustments
2. Develop and maintain operational, monitoring and reporting systems to ensure accounts receivableactivities are meeting quality, productivity and reimbursement goals.
3. Develop and maintain policies and procedures to support industry leading operations.
4. Maintain an understanding of industry standards and practices related to billing and accounts receivablemanagement and implement such standards
5. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
6. Communicate hospital Accounts Receivable goals and performance throughout the network
7. Benchmark billing/collections/cash /denial management functions with external entities to identifyopportunities for continuous improvement. Identify and propose industry leading strategies to achieve theseresults.
8. Manage the department operations within budget.
9. Participate in assessment of performance of third party payers to ensure compliance with contracts andoptimal operational performance. Work directly with payers to achieve optimal results.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
• BA Preferred, or 8+ years’ experience in billing management.
• Master’s degree desired
Membership in appropriate professional organizations is considered a necessary element of this position
Participation in community organizations that enhance the effectiveness of Kettering Health Network isstrongly encourage
Minimum Work Experience
• 8+ years progressive experience in operations and management directly related to health care revenue cycle
• 5+ years management experience including leadership of large groups of employees (25+)


Required Skills
1. Knowledge in areas of health care finance, government regulations, management theory, reimbursement,budgeting, health technologies and other areas as appropriate.
2. Knowledge of best practices related to hospital accounts receivable management, billing and collectionoperations.
3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. Proven ability to lead by example and engage employees
5. A passion for an excellent patient experience
6. Proficient in the Office suite of products.
7. Demonstrated ability in project management
8. Demonstrated ability in data analytics
