Responsibilities & Requirements

The Sycamore Glen Culinary Associate I:

Prepares and serves meals to residents, family members and staff.  Cleans and sanitizes pans, dishes, and utensils.  Performs all tasks in accordance with safety and sanitation guidelines.  Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Accurately manages position paperwork (resident meal orders, refrigerator and freezer temperature monitoring forms, dish machine temperatures, etc.).
  • Follows correct hand hygiene procedures (sanitizes hands before and after entering patient rooms, washes hands as needed, etc.).
  • Utilizes appropriate scripting and responds to residents/internal and external customers (confirms accuracy of meal, offers to open cartons, offers to get anything else the resident needs, effectively uses HEAL principle, interacts with everyone in a manner that conveys respect, etc.).
  • Effectively and safely uses position equipment, performing applicable cleaning/sanitation procedures (sanitizes carts and work surfaces, cleans dish machine and surrounding area, cleans beverage machines and refrigerators, etc.).
  • Puts resident as priority and focal point.

Job Qualifications:

 

Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time

Ability to push and pull wheeled carts

Ability to read and write English

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to follow oral and written directions

Ability to tolerate frequent temperature changes working with and around equipment that generates heat, steam, and cold

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred. 

Food service or customer service experience preferred.

Restaurant style server/hostess experience preferred.
