Kettering Health Main Campus

Responsibilities & Requirements

Under the direction of the Grounds Supervisor, the lead gardener will function and work as a gardener maintaining KH grounds, walks & roadways including; mowing, planting and caring for plants, watering, pruning, pest management, equipment maintenance and grounds cleanliness. In addition, the lead gardener will assign daily work schedules and provide onsite direction for gardeners, groundskeepers, and contracted labor. The lead gardener will also function as the direct line of contact for the facility they are assigned, identifying any issues on the property, reporting them to the Grounds Supervisor or Grounds Manager in a timely manner. Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains KH grounds, walks & roadways including; mowing, planting and caring for plants, watering, pruning, pest management, equipment maintenance and grounds cleanliness
  • Assigns daily schedule and coordinates the work for employees and/or contractors performing gardening and grounds duties
  • Keeps supervisor informed of the work performed by employees and contractors and reports any issues with the property they are assigned
  • Uses required tools and equipment skillfully and safely
  • Effectively follows and gives directions
  • Evaluates work methods and productivity of gardening tasks

Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.  

 

5-8 years of landscaping experience required.
