Job Responsibilities:
The Retail Inventory Control Assistant is responsible for assisting the Retail Leaders in receiving product to the stores and maintaining par levels in stores as well as assisting with light ordering and assisting gift shop staff and volunteers as needed.
· Minimum of 3 years’ retail front end and warehouse experience preferred.
· Visual merchandising experience
Able to read and write English and follow oral and written directions.
Competent in Microsoft systems, strong understanding of retail POS functions and inventory systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to walk and stand for long periods of time. Push carts, use ladders, ability to life and move boxes
· Responsible for assisting the Retail Leader in overseeing the daily operations of a shop which includes assisting other retail staff ( if applicable) and shop volunteers, working on sales floor, providing excellent customer service, sales practices and a positive and productive work environment.
· Full understanding of gift shop POS, store operations and troubleshooting, completing daily deposits and money handling, maintaining supply par levels on items such as soda, snacks, candy, boxes, tissue, bags, register tape, etc.
· Full understanding of gift shop website for online ordering and deliveries to patients and staff
· Ensuring pricing is in line with retail standards and consistent system wide, to meet budget and sale goals
· Executing visual merchandising displays established by the Retail Coordinator/Manager/Director and assisting with Gift Shop special events and special functions.
· Handling incoming inventory (as store requires), purchase orders and receipts. These responsibilities will include: verifying contents against purchase orders, building vendor relationships, physically stacking, sorting and receiving cartons, unpacking merchandise, entering items in POS inventory system, producing and placing tags on product, delivering new and replenishment merchandise to store and assisting in the filing and maintenance of inventory related records as well as assisting in the physical inventory process.
