Responsibilities & Requirements

The IS Finance Manager is responsible for the financial management of the department including but not limited to the IT contract and purchase authorization process, reporting financial metrics and analyzing financial results. The manager works to continuously improve cost management and variance analysis for departments and projects. The manager works with the Information Systems department directors and managers and also interfaces with a number of additional departments including Network Finance and business line CFO's. 

 

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

Minimum Work Experience 

  • 5 years’ supervisory experience and 5 years of experience in Healthcare or Information Systems Finance

Leadership Capabilities 

  • Supervise the IS Financial Analyst in their responsibilities
  • Manage the IS annual budgeting process by providing guidance to cost center managers and compiling the required data and analysis for KH Finance submission. Reforecast expense and capital expenditures within the year as needed.
  • Evaluate the one-time and on-going financial impact of projects and develop processes and provide training and guidance to project managers relating to project expenditure. Collaborate with management on the classification of expenses as capital or operating
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analyses for IS
  • Develop processes and educate IS leadership on financial functions and activities to improve their understanding of costing, forecasting, and financial plan
  • Manage the IS purchasing process by providing review and authorization for purchases
  • Continuously improve cost management and variance analysis for departments and projects
  • Communicate internal and external budget impacts to ensure transparency
  • Review and authorize new IS contracts, support contract review and approval by Network leadership
  • Prepare, submit and analyze data for IS bench marking studies
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports for IS management/departments as requested, including the financial impact of personnel and compensation strategies

  • MBA preferred
