The Vice President, Specialty Operations will provide overall leadership and direction for all medical group specialty service line operations, including but not limited to, Heart and Vascular, Brain and Spine, Orthopedics, Surgical Services, Hospital Medicine, Oncology, Women’s Health and Behavioral Health. In partnership with physician and administrative leaders, will be accountable for identifying and implementing opportunities to optimize operational performance, physician and APP alignment, patient experience, financial performance and provider and staff engagement.
The VP Specialty Operations will execute system and medical group strategies that reflect priorities for clinical effectiveness and financial performance. The VP will effectively manage the overall cost structure through the development of effective support management functions and create efficiencies in systems and processes, through utilization of continuous improvement processes to ensure effective operations.
The VP will serve as a member of the executive leadership team, working cooperatively with team members on the development, implementation and evaluation of the group practice delivery system. In collaboration with senior leadership, the VP will refine and execute the overall strategy of the medical group specialty service lines and strengthen/align the business and clinical objectives across the continuum.
The VP will maintain high employee and provider engagement and collaborative relationships with employees and management team, to enhance culture, productivity and the quality of work life within the medical group. Leads efforts to improve the work environment and optimal caregiver engagement. Empowers employees at all levels to be innovative and action-oriented, while advancing a culture of accountability.
Requirements: Master’s Degree in Health Care, Nursing or Business with 8-10 years required of progressive experience in medical group leadership and business development of multi-specialty physician group, in a health system environment required, 10+ years preferred.
•Must possess comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare environment including economic factors, change theory, clinical care delivery in the ambulatory setting.
•Demonstrated skill in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.
•Demonstrated skill in physician relationship development and leadership development and mentoring.
•Demonstrated proficiency in developing written reports and business plans as well as public speaking.
•Effective in written and verbal communication, organizing work and setting priorities to accomplish multiple tasks concurrently.
•Demonstrated skill in communicating with and identifying the needs of provider and employee customers.
