The Senior Communication Specialist supports the Content Manager and assists in overseeing Content Team membersin its goal to build brand authority for internal and external audiences. This role requires strong writing andediting; project management working on deadline; relationship-building with department and system leaders;and content planning.This team member ensures clarity and accuracy in consumer and employee content, supports leadercommunications through ghostwriting and scriptwriting, and develops and contributes to communicationplans. They enhance collaboration across Marketing and Communications and help shape Content Teamstrategy.Success requires strong relationships, high editorial standards, and the ability to lead and support the ContentTeam’s brand journalists while managing multiple projects. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, publications, English, or relevantfield.
Minimum Work Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in relevant field, including communications, marketing, publications, writing, andediting.

Essential Functions
- Write, edit, and proofread internal and external content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and engagement.
- Develop creative content ideas and innovative approaches to storytelling.
- Serve as managing editor of the Annual Report to ensure strategic alignment and editorial excellence.
- Serve on the First and Final Proof Team to uphold quality and consistency across communications.
- Participate in the media on-call rotation, responding to inquiries and supporting crisis communications asneeded.
- Write and edit senior executive communications, including memos, talking points, award nominations, andvideo scripts.
- Collaborate with the manager to define standards and processes that align content across the department.
- Provides leadership for the Content function that may include direct supervision for function team staffmembers. Responsibilities could include selection, training, coaching, evaluating, and handling disciplinaryaction in collaboration with function team leader.
- Work with subject matter experts to develop and execute strategic communication campaigns for internalclients.
- Collaborate with internal team members and external vendors, including designers, photographers,videographers, and freelancers.
- Apply storytelling techniques to create compelling, audience-driven content.
- Assess the effectiveness of campaigns and content strategy, analyzing topics, formats, and distributionchannels.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and complete work on deadline.
