Responsibilities & Requirements

The Director of Residence Life plays a pivotal role in the development of our Residence Hall infrastructure and student experience. They will be responsible for building a community in our Housing Operations through hiring RA leaders, mentoring, and creating strategic plans to increase a culture of community and engagement here at Kettering College.

 

The Director of Residence Life must be a team player who works collaboratively with various staff and faculty departments on Kettering College campus.  In addition to the desired collaboration, this individual must be a visionary.  They will need to develop a Residence Life strategic plan, deeply embed themselves in the KC recruitment strategies, and drive our infrastructure expansion and growth endeavors. This role will manage all on and off campus housing operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Residence Hall Operations
    • Hiring, developing, and managing RA leaderS
    • Delivering a robust RA training program
    • Residence Hall handbook, policies, and procedure updates.
    • Strategic growth initiatives (remodel, infrastructure, off-campus growth
  • Residence Hall Community Building and Communication
    • Develop and host community building programming, Residence Hall meetings and worship
    • Designs and delivers newsletter and all Residence Hall communication
    • Create and host whole-student initiatives
  • Enrollment Collaboration
    • Designs marketing and PR initiatives for KC Residence Hall
    • Conduit for prospective residents and KC Residence Hall

Education 

  • Bachelors Degree required.

Experience 

  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to build relationships with students, alumni and other clientele.
  • Successful experience with special events planning and implementation.
  • Ability to tell the KC story with authentic passion and excellent articulation.
  • Familiarity with higher education and health care management
  • Ability to connect with students and potential employers of KC students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree preferred.
  • 5 Years of higher education experience preferred. Work in Disability, EEO, Title IX, Clearly is preferred.
