Job Summary:
The Manager of Clinical Projects and Innovation serves as a strategic partner to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), leading the planning, execution, and oversight of high-impact nursing initiatives. This role is instrumental in advancing CMS 5-Star performance metrics by driving improvements in patient experience, clinical quality, safety, and financial outcomes. The Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and implement opportunities for enhancing clinical and nursing performance. The Manager develops and drives strategies to support innovation and excellence in care delivery, while managing all aspects of assigned projects—resources, scope, timelines, budgets, quality standards, risk mitigation, and change control—to ensure timely and successful outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Master’s degree in education, business, healthcare administration or related field preferred.
Essential Functions:
Champions and promotes Kettering Health’s corporate values, mission, and culture. · Drives and leads key operational initiatives related to nursing and clinical performance to assist in achieving CMS 5-star rating (i.e. patient experience, quality and safety and clinical financial performance). · Develop and maintain processes, tools, and methodologies that support systematic improvements in the areas of planning, decision-making, resource allocation, status tracking, and project success criteria. · Support and collaborate with operational leaders in the development of project plans for approved projects. Aid in the identification of project goals, overall objectives, and stakeholder expectations. · Covers assignments for local and assigned system meetings and taskforces, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. · Works closely with multidisciplinary team including physicians, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals. · Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders including updates on project progress, challenges, and changes. · Assist with establishing quality standards and project deliverables. · Collect and analyze data related to nursing projects. · Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure initiatives meet needs of the group. · Displays willingness and ability to problem-solve, make recommendations, evaluate and improve processes. · Anticipates, identifies, and develops strategies to enhance the customer experience. · Promotes an environment where the team can work cooperatively towards objectives.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in clinical hospital setting. Previous management experience preferred.
Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse
Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations and critical thinking skills. Ability to mentor, manage, and provide clear direction to all relevant stakeholders. Must be able to work in a rapidly changing environment. Strong communication and organizational skills.
