Department Overview

Integration engineers set up, administer, and maintain data sharing/transmission among Kettering Health applications and external, third-party systems. They ensure that all interfaces meet Kettering Health privacy standards, HIPAA requirements, and other regulations. Integration engineers are responsible for the entire life cycle of interface development, including analysis, design, specification, implementation, go‐live, and support.

Job Requirements:
 
Minimum Education
• Associates degree or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
 
Minimum Work Experience
• 0-2 years of experience as an integration engineer or related field.
• Epic Bridges Certification or obtained within 6 months.
• InterSystems Ensemble Integration Engine Certification or obtained in 6 months.
 
Required Skills• Experience with the Intersystem Ensemble Integration Engine
• Experience with HL7, XML, and EPIC interfaces
• Prior experience working in healthcare industry with Epic EMR
 
Job Responsibilities:
 
System Administration - Integration Engine and interfaces – creates, maintains, monitor real-time interfaces and file transfer (FTP) processes for non-production and production environments. Changes completed on time with expected results using appropriate project, change management, testing, documentation and communication processes
Receives, identifies cause, fixes support tickets in a timely manner, based on established Service Level Targets.
Documents the resolution and communicates the solutions to the affected users
Assists in documenting standards and procedures and distributes properly
Appropriately escalates issues to manager for prioritization and operational awareness
Demonstrates support of the IS Foundational Practices
Experience with the Intersystem Ensemble Integration Engine
Experience with HL7, XML, and EPIC interfaces
Prior experience working in healthcare industry with Epic EMR
