Department Overview

Job Description:

 

The Inventory Control Assistant is responsible for assisting the Retail Director and Coordinator in selecting and ordering merchandise as well as assisting with the daily operations of the shops.  These responsibilities will include: inventory planning, profit margins, developing vendor relations, assortment planning and visual merchandising, and daily financial reporting/deposits, as well as oversee store volunteers and assist staff. This position is also responsible for managing incoming inventory, purchase orders and receipts. These responsibilities will include:  verifying contents against purchase orders, physically stacking, sorting and receiving cartons, unpacking merchandise, producing and placing tags on product, delivering new replenishment merchandise to store and assisting in the filing and maintenance of inventory related records as well as assisting in the physical inventory process. 

Responsibilities & Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

  • Three or more years experience in a Materials Management related position.
  • Working knowledge of computer based procurement system
  • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Working knowledge of office equipment operation including ,computer, fax machine, etc.
  •  Performs a variety of computer input, supply procurement processes for departments and/or product categories/companies as assigned.
  • Assumes Charge responsibility in the absence of the Manager.
  • Assists the Manager in all aspects of Material Distribution and inventory control.
  • Assist and adjust all par level forms.
  • Assist Material Management in strengthening relations between KHN departments and Material Distribution to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Displays strong leadership qualities and a positive attitude. Uses proper phone etiquette and maintains professional appearance at all times.
  • Works on time and attendance and schedule, performs par leveling back up as needed.
  • Performs cycle counts and maintains records as required.
  • Ability to multi task and cover all areas of Materials Distribution as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skill Needed:

  • Strong interpersonal skills: Capable of relating to a diverse population of patients, families, visitors, and employees.  Provide an exceptionally high level of customer service. Work directly with other departments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through multiple mediums; Effective communication using email, fax, phone, and in person. Communicate with retail leadership regarding customer service issues. Communicate with other employees regarding customer special requests.
  •  Availability: Ability to work flexible hours for special events, holiday hours, special sales, etc.
  • Excellent math and computer skills.
  • Demonstrate high clerical accuracy, strong organizational skills and attention to detail. -Familiar with standard retail procedures.
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours, use ladders, lift boxes, change display units, stooping and bending to arrange product and pack items.
  • Flexibility to multi-task and handle a variety of tasks.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • High School graduate or GED required.  
  • Competent in Microsoft systems and a strong understanding of retail POS system preferred. 

Experience:

 

  • 2-3 Years’ Experience in retail, warehouse environment preferred.  
  • Visual Merchandising Experience
