Responsibilities & Requirements

Provides physical therapy services under the delegation and supervision of a Physical Therapist as outlined in the Guide to Standards of Care for Physical Therapy Practice and Ohio Laws and Rules governing the profession.  Follows the plan of care and works in consortium with the supervising therapist to achieve the goals and discharge plans established during assessments.  The physical therapist assistant may assist in the development and participate in patient oriented programs and community educational services as well as market all services provided by the department/organization.  The physical therapist assistant is supervised by the physical therapist for performance of direct patient care. 

 

 
Minimum Education
Graduation from an accredited school required.
 
Required Licenses
[Ohio, United States] Physical Therapy Assistant
Must be licensed by the State of Ohio.
 
Required Skills
Ability to perform therapy treatments in accordance with the established plan of care. Ability to delegate appropriate treatment activities to supportive personnel. Knowledge of and ability to use therapy equipment. Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, documentation in electronic medical record. Meets the physical demand requirements, has good interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask.
