Responsibilities & Requirements

The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process in providing nursing care to patients in all settings incollaboration with other health care providers. The Hospital Float RN specifically provides care in two or morenursing specialties including ICU, Emergency, and Cardiovascular. The Hospital Float RN floats to multipledepartments throughout the system.


The RN is accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care definedby law. Utilizing organizational resources, the RN acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe careincluding delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities. Thedelivery of nursing care within the Kettering Health Network reflects the missions, vision, values andphilosophies, of the organization and nursing departments.


Performs other duties as assigned.

 


Minimum Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (NLN or CCNE)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Candidates with 12 years of Nursing experience are exempt from the BSN requirement.
  • A nurse who is returning to the acute care setting after five or more years may be required to provideevidence of successful completion of a refresher course


Minimum Work Experience

 

  • 1 year of Nursing experience preferred
  • Required Licenses: Registered Nurse
  • Licensed in the State of Ohio as a Registered Nurse
  • BLS Certification required
  • ACLS, NRP, PALS required as determined by unit scope of practice

Preferred Qualifications

Would Prefer Applicants Have:

  • ICU/step down experience
