Job Responsibilities:

 

The Clinical Support Specialist SR works/leads extensively on projects and initiatives with Kettering Health Medical Group, Community Connect, additional Epic teams, and other stakeholders within and outside the Kettering Health System. This position combines clinical expertise with an understanding of health informatics and electronic health records (EHR). The Clinical Support Specialist SR provides training and support to the Clinical Support Specialist I and II, providers and clinicians. Works within the EHR application to improve physician and clinician experience. Participates in testing functionality with vendor integration and workflows. Assumes leadership responsibilities for moderate to complex projects that involve the automation of patient data with corresponding workflow changes. 

 

Job Requirements:

• A high school diploma or completion of an equivalent high school exam is required.
• An associate degree is preferred.
• Experience working in a physician practice or similar healthcare environment preferred.
• Experience using an EHR preferred.
• Familiarity with clinical workflows and healthcare terminology.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in training and educating healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications and data analysis tools.
• 5+ years of experience in support, informatics, etc.
• Epic for the Clinical Informaticist certification, accredited, or proficiency required within 1 year of employment.
• Epic Ambulatory certification, accredited, or proficiency preferred within 1 year of employment.
• Epic Signal course required within 1 year of employment.
