Responsibilities & Requirements

To perform on a daily basis various respiratory care procedures for acute care for all age groups under indirect supervision of a licensed respiratory care professional.
Reports To: Manager

 
Job Requirements:
 
Be actively enrolled in an AMA approved Respiratory Care registry program
Required Licenses[Ohio, United States] Other
Candidate must have a current limited permit to practice respiratory care issued by Ohio.
 
Must demonstrate skills in all Patient Care Areas of the Hospital.
Must demonstrate knowledge as it relates to cardiopulmonary disease states.
Active AARC member preferred
Must demonstrate knowledge and competency of modalities as verified by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board.
Current BLS for respective work area
Works under the supervision of a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist to delivery care to the respiratory patient.
 
Job Responsibilities:
Holds self and others accountable for safety by ensuring appropriate procedures and guidelines are followed.
Responsive to coaching and feedback for improvement; demonstrates continued progress by improving competencies, skill development and applying learning.
Demonstrates appropriate judgment and thinking skills for situations.Has attended (or reviewed via HealthStream) a minimum of three Town Hall meetings.

Administers respiratory therapy treatments by performing ordered therapies evaluating the effectiveness of treatment plan by observing, charting, and evaluating patient’s progress; recommending adjustments and modifications
Maintains patient confidence and protects hospital operations by keeping information confidential.
Documents patient care services and charges in patient and department recordProtects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
