The Processing Tech II plays a vital role in ensuring patient safety and positive surgical outcomes by performing advanced decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This position supports operational reliability and regulatory compliance through adherence to infection control standards and accurate documentation. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.
Required Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of one year of experience in sterile processing or a related field
Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:
Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (e.g., Certified Registered Central Service Technician [CRCST] or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician [CSPDT])
Preferred Education:
Completion of a formal Sterile Processing Technician training program
Preferred Work Experience:
Two or more years of experience in sterile processing, preferably in a hospital or surgical setting
Additional certifications such as Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) or Certified Surgical Technologist
