The Chaplain I provides compassionate spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff, addressing diverse spiritual needs and beliefs within the healthcare setting. This role delivers crisis intervention, facilitates religious rituals, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote holistic care and patient well-being. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program. Completion of at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) accredited by ACPE. Experience providing spiritual care, preferably in a healthcare or pastoral setting. If performing religious ceremonies such as marriages, one must obtain a minister's license through the Ohio Secretary of State, in accordance with state law and organizational policy.

Additional coursework or degree in counseling, psychology, or related field. Two or more years of experience in hospital, hospice, or clinical chaplaincy. Board certification or eligibility through the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), or National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC).
