Kettering Health Network is seeking an RN Infection control specialist to acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care, including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities. The delivery of nursing care at Kettering Medical Center  reflects the philosophies, mission, vision and values of the organization and nursing department.

Responsibilities & Requirements

  •  Accountable for the development and ongoing management of Kettering Medical Center’s Infection Control Program.
  • The CIC Specialist is responsible for: ongoing employee education regarding infection control; performance of surveillance activities; implementation of prevention and control measures in response to a suspected or known bioterrorism-related outbreak.
  •  Specific audits that promote high quality care to all patients and reduces the risk of infection for employees and patients.
  • Available to all departments, the Specialist serves as a resource for infection control questions and issues.
  • Performs infection control surveillance activities, and specific audits that promote high quality care to all patients and reduce the risk of infection for employees and patients.

Job Requirements:

  • Medical Technologist  or RN with a BS/BSN in applicable health field.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) obtained within 3 years of hire.
  • Has 5 years’ experience in bedside nursing/microbiology in an acute care facility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Over 2 years of Infection Prevention and Control experience preferred.
