Responsibilities & Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

  • Must be capable of working independently and work well with team members.
  • Must be able to perform timely, quality Ultrasound exams.
  • Must be able to interact positively with multiple patient populations and their families
  • Perform other duties assigned and help in other areas as needed.
  • Possible on call and holidays required

Job Qualifications:

  • Registry by Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is required or ARRT.
  • Multiple ARDMS Credentials within 1 year  
  • BLS required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • One year preferred sonography experience
  • Under general supervision, performs high quality adult echocardiograms, stress echoes, vascular ultrasounds, and assists with TEE exams (if applicable) in Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) accredited departments. Individuals in this position will work closely with cardiologists and technologists.
  • Graduate of accredited school of ultrasound/sonography. Registered in both adult echocardiography (RCS or RDCS) and vascular ultrasound (RVS or RVT).
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and spatial relationships of all cardiac and vascular structures. Ability to work well with physicians, technologists, and all hospital personnel. Must be able to: exercise initiative and independent judgment, correlate cardiac and vascular images on particular body structures so that reading physicians are provided with adequate diagnostic information, learn new procedures/operate new equipment, work efficiently, accurately, and methodically. We have a number of very busy, moderately stressful patient care areas that require one to be able to deal with stressful situations with a positive manner and attitude. Ability to move and position patients for testing is necessary. Required constructive interactions with patients, physicians, coworkers and office staff.
