Responsibilities & Requirements

The Application Systems Analyst Senior position duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Serves as technical expert to troubleshoot back-end components of applications, including databases, operating systems, interfaces, communication protocols, and respond to support tickets.
  • Follow established change management processes and guidelines on the implementation of fixes into application production environments. Document and communicate fixes to the appropriate stakeholders for review.  Coordinate approved production moves through change control systems.
  • Lead the implementation of projects for assigned applications. Build project teams based on needed capabilities and assign project tasks to team members.  Monitor the overall progress of projects and provide project updates to Applications Systems leadership.
  • After infrastructure hand-off, build application environment on servers. Install necessary applications and related components, configure accounts and services.
  • Develop test scenarios, conduct/coordinate testing, and initiate change control processes on production systems for system patches, upgrades, implementations, and enhancements.
  • Verify database maintenance plans that maximize application uptime and performance. Review database transaction logs and troubleshoot/correct identified issues as needed.
  • Conduct research on available applications based on business requirements and available budget.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on assigned applications. Answer technical questions, assist in the integration of new applications into the overall IS systems environment, and help with application deployments/expansions.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide off-hours application support.

Requirements/preferences

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, computer science or related field is preferred, Associate’s degree with equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of relevant business application experience
  • Experience with a variety of enterprise/business applications, healthcare application experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of interfaces, operating systems, and databases
  • Proven ability to manage projects
  • Extensive SQL database experience, including the development of database scripts

Preferred Qualifications

  • HIMS and Computer Assisted Coding systems and coding workflows would be a plus
