Overview

Coordinates and directs applications of all respiratory therapies in assigned areas with minimal direction and assumes and administrative duties as assigned, Responsible for education in areas of responsibility as well as acts liaison between staff, physicians, nursing, and other ancillary staff as needed. Additional the position demonstrates a strong approach to all network initiatives and will be a role model for KHN mission, vision, and values.

 

  • Monitors, audits, and evaluates the performance of the NICU respiratory staff.
  • Develops and reviews all NICU Policies and Procedures on a routine basis.
  • Develops and ensures completion of educational competencies as the need arises.
  • Schedules and coordinates staff meetings for the NICU respiratory staff.
  • Attends required multidisciplinary NICU meetings.
  • Reviews and discusses with sales representatives, the equipment and supplies needed to maintain a high performance NICU.
  • The neonatal specialist takes part in special NICU PI projects
  • RRT
  • RCP licensed in the State of Ohio
  • Minimum BS in Respiratory, Education, or Business; Master preferred
  • 6 years’ experience in Respiratory
  • 2 years’ experience in supervisory position
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP
  • Active AARC member

  • Completion of clinical skill level I, II, III; technical, leadership, and education skills; ability to work well with a team; strong oral and written communication skills; possesses good clinical and technical knowledge of Respiratory Care; motivates employees to perform effectively and efficiently;
  • Show motivation to provide education
  • Takes ownership and provides coverage for area as needed.
  • Excels in leadership and ability to drive proven methods to accomplish new tasks.
  • Provides team building efforts and has shown ability to accomplish tasks and leadership with the respect of the team.
  • Level III experience required
