The vascular technologist will be capable of applying techniques and patient positioning to produce high quality ultrasound images. Individuals in this position must be able to exercise initiative, critical thinking and independent judgment. The technologist must be willing to participate in continuing education programs to further upgrade his/her skills. Job Responsibilities The Angiography Technologist will be an individual capable of assisting the physician during cardiac or peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures, pacemakers and ICDs. He or she must possess the ability to perform radiographic work on several different types of radiographic equipment so that all work is completed in a competent, timely and efficient manner. He or she will assist with patient care and safety while the patient is in the Cardiac Cath or EP lab environment. Long periods of standing are required with the use of lead aprons. The Angiography Technologist will be responsible for rotating call for emergency procedures with a 30 minute response time if employed in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
